Contract position working in the COMPUTATIONS directorate at the lab, responsible for taking a SQL 2000 database and ColdFusion MX web application developed at Sandia National Laboratory (a sister laboratory of LLNL's) and making it work for needs at LLNL. This system was to act as a self defending network, preventing unauthorized users, machines, or identities to gain access to the open lab net (unclassified network). This position ended as the budget for this project was cut, and the lab took a different direction and use Oracle to create the self defending network.
Received source code from Sandia National Laboratory and restored it to a development SQL and ColdFusion Server. Brought up a ColdFusion application on LLNL's intranet. Sorted through 250 CFML pages to determine the business processes used. Used Visio to map several of the major business processes from thousands of lines of code coming from multiple sources including SQL Stored Procedures, Triggers, various file formats (i.e. .SQL, WSF and BAT), and ColdFusion pages. Built and maintained a development SQL and an Oracle 10g Server on Windows Server 2003. - |

Designed and supported databases in SQL and Access, using Visual Basic and WEB front ends. Used DTS to manipulate data from text files, Access tables, Excel spreadsheets, etc. to the SQL server. Taught co-workers how to develop in T-SQL using SQL Enterprise Manager and Query Analyzer to write stored procedures, views, and how to develop web application using ColdFusion, JavaScript, and HTML. Lead a project to convert our users from a Token Ring network to an Ethernet network, provided support during the conversion that saved the team hours. Designed and wrote training manuals and taught classes on the features of Outlook 2000 addressing the issues of migration from Lotus Notes and CCmail.
